Dog Training

I am a retired Police Officer having spent the majority of my service as a Dog Handler and Trainer. Whilst on the Dog Section I was an Operational Handler working and training General Purpose/ Firearms , Drugs and Explosive Detection Dogs.

I conducted both offensive and defensive searches at many high profile events across the UK.

Throughout my career I trained many different breeds of dogs including German Shepherds , Belgium Malinois , Dutch Herders , Border Collies , Springer Spaniels, Cocker Spaniels and Labradors.

I also dealt with numerous prohibited and dangerous breeds including Pit Bulls and the legal issues around them.

I also competed in Police Dog Trials and assisted with the running and their organisation.
I have been training, competing and working with Gundog breeds for over 30 years and continue to do so. I have trained Gundogs for both UK and foreign clients all over the world. I am a Member of the British Institute of Professional Dog Trainers and A Master Trainer with the Guild of Professional Dog Trainers.

I train dogs for a variety of different disciplines from Basic Obedience/Agility to Assistance and Search Work. I can cater for both Groups and on a 1 to 1 basis. At Abergwenllan we are fortunate enough to have both indoor and outdoor training facilities and access to some of the best Gundog Training areas in the UK on our doorstep. We have the resources to recreate any scenarios that may cause your dog an issue.

All breeds of dog are welcome for training. All our training is geared to each individual dogs needs using appropriate training methods and we work alongside owners to create bespoke training packages.
